Maintenance and Longevity

Caring for Your Plant Wall Art

One of the greatest benefits of custom plant wall art is that it brings the beauty of nature indoors without the demanding upkeep of a traditional garden. Whether your installation features preserved botanicals, living plants, or a combination of both, my designs are created to be as practical as they are beautiful. With just a little care, your handcrafted botanical artwork can remain a stunning focal point for years to come.

Designed for Easy Maintenance

Every custom installation is thoughtfully designed with longevity and ease of care in mind. Many of my botanical designs combine preserved moss and preserved plants with carefully selected live plants. The living plants are installed in pots that are carefully camouflaged into the art piece, and the plants can be easily removed, replaced, and rearranged to your liking. This allows you to enjoy the beauty of living greenery without the maintenance typically associated with larger indoor plant displays, and the flexibility to change the design seasonally.

Caring for Living Plants

If your installation includes live plants, caring for them is simple. Each plant has a built-in water reservoir that helps provide a consistent supply of moisture to each plant, so watering is needed less frequently than with traditional potted plants. The exact schedule depends on the plant varieties, indoor temperature, humidity, and available light. During your installation, I’ll provide guidance on the best watering schedule for your specific design so you can keep your living plants healthy and thriving.

Caring for Preserved Moss & Botanical Elements

Preserved moss and preserved plants are real botanical materials that have been specially treated to maintain their natural beauty for years without ongoing care.

Unlike living plants, preserved botanicals require:

  • No watering
  • No fertilizing
  • No pruning
  • No soil maintenance

To help preserve their color and texture, we recommend placing preserved artwork away from prolonged direct sunlight or intense UV exposure. Direct sunlight can gradually fade preserved materials over time. If dust accumulates, it can usually be removed by gently blowing the surface with a handheld keyboard air cleaner or another low-pressure air duster. Avoid using water, cleaning sprays, or abrasive tools, as these can damage the preserved botanicals. With proper placement and occasional dust removal, preserved plant wall art can remain vibrant and beautiful for many years.

Professional Plant Care Services

If you’d rather leave the maintenance to us, I offer optional plant care services for installations that include living plants.

Monthly maintenance plans can include:

  • Watering live plants
  • Plant health inspections
  • Light pruning and grooming
  • Replacing unhealthy plants when needed
  • Cleaning containers
  • General appearance checks of preserved plants to keep your installation looking its best

Professional maintenance helps ensure your living plant wall continues to thrive while giving you one less thing to worry about.

Enjoy Nature with Less Maintenance

My custom plant wall art is designed to offer the beauty, texture, and calming presence of nature while minimizing the time and effort required to care for it. Whether you choose a fully preserved botanical installation, a living plant wall, or a combination of both, I’ll help you select the best solution for your space, lifestyle, and maintenance preferences. If you have questions about caring for your installation or would like to enroll in a monthly plant maintenance plan, I’m always happy to help.
